Akari Hosokawa is a freelance photographer and writer from Japan.
In 2016, she moved to the United States and resides in the Greater Boston Area.
Currently, Akari is writing and taking photographs for the travel section of the New York Japion newspaper
showcasing interesting areas all around Massachusetts.
Akari began photographing the world around her in high school
and continued her study of photography at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Akari is inspired by the photography of the 1920's-1950's,
especially the works of Fan Ho and Robert Capa.

Her passion has led her to travel Asia and North America with her camera.
In 2015 she received first place in the Asean Sakai Photography Competition with the photo 'Lotus Picking'.
